1. What are some of the previous research projects you have done?
we did alot of boring resarch in LA history last year. This year we did some interesting projects like the laybrinth .
2. Based on these projects, what does research mean to you?
in past experences it means a whole lot of ussless work that wont have anything to do with the final product
3. Describe one of your research successes or failures. Why was the experience positive or negative?
last year all of my research projects were failures. It was a negative experenice because i failed. But I got a B+ on the labrinth project this year, it was a positive experence because i didnt fail.

2. Why you chose it: They sound very interesting
3. What you already know about your topic: Not much. I know that they are generally precived as barbarians. They lived in northern europe.

Who were the vikings?
What legacies did they leave (invent ect.) that still effect us today?
When did they come into power?
What time period were the Vikings in?
What countries did the Vikings live in?
What were some of the weapons that the Vikings used.
What were Viking funerals and how were they unique?
Did they have any distinctive architectural designs?
How did they effect other cultures in there time period?
What other cultures did they effect and trade with ect?
Were they nomadic?
Why did they have horns on there helmets?
What did they have there boats shaped and decorated like they were?
How did they dress?
Were they as Barbaric as we perceive them today?

Good questions. Keep in mind that you won't be able to answer all of these in a short essay. So after you have done your research, decide what is most important in order to tell the story about who the Vikings are. Only keep that information and don't use the extra information.

1. Describe how the pre-notetaking sheet helped you find both focus for your topic and research questions to investigate. Did you find it easy or difficult to create a fat question from your ideas?
The pre notetaking sheet helped me figure out what I wanted to know about my topic. Knowing exactly what I'm looking for will make research alot easier. Once i had all my questions down my fat question was very obvious.
